Les Reves Mechaniques was created as the introduction to a series never made – a final project for a film editing course that the creator was participating in. “The Mechanical Dreams” (Google’s best guess at a translation) looked to be a very Steampunk, if rather anthropomorphic, creation with bipedal dinosaurs, engineer centaurs and gentleman mallards. Indeed, it reminds me very much of “Around the World with Willy Fog” the cartoon series from my youth (and I must look it up for Steampunk potential). The music, I believe, is from Amelié (by the same director as City of Lost Children and Delicatessen) and has to be my favourite piece of accordion music.
